Bethany's Legacy

Founded by Simon and Colleen Preston, Bethany's Legacy is a CIC (Community Interest Company) raising funds and awareness for a cause very close to their hearts. On 22nd June 2010, the Preston family had to face heartbreaking bad news. On this day, Simon and Colleen sadly lost their daughter, Bethany-Shannon, aged 3.

Bethany-Shannon was an apparently healthy 3 year old child, who loved nothing more than to smile, laugh and have fun with those around her. Bethany-Shannon Preston died suddenly overnight after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.

Without any indication of what the cause of death was, Simon and Colleen set their minds to focus on fundraising in order to attempt to prevent other families from experiencing what they had. They put their emotions and thoughts of the grief they endure on a day to day basis into the hope that by fundraising themselves, they could make a difference. Bethany-Shannon left behind her parents and sister, Sophie Preston, with the heartache that one cannot even begin to imagine.
March 2011 saw the beginning of Bethany's Legacy in their work to prevent unnecessary cardiac deaths, whilst also raising funds for respite care for parents who had recently experienced the bereavement of their child. To this day, the raising of funds and awareness continues. In June 2017, Bethany's Legacy became registered as a CIC with Companies House. The directors of Bethany's Legacy are now continuing to raise funds and are focused on helping families who have found themselves in such a horrendous turmoil, following the loss of a child.
